Home Bistro, a multi-channel retailer focused on chef-prepared meals delivered to your door, charged into the 2008 holiday season armed with a new webstore delivered with quick turnaround and community focused web 2.0 features. Quick time to market was accomplished by leveraging TELLUS agency services and TELUS Commerce Platform.
In the spring of 2008, the Home Bistro team re-evaluated their web presence leading into the holiday season in a down economy. Time was crucial. Home Bistro zeroed in on finding the right fit for building traffic and user engagement in addition to sophisticated eCommerce features required. Twelve weeks after project kickoff, the site launched in late October. Focusing on more than just features, Home Bistro launched a new blog in conjunction with the new site, enabling customer interaction. This community element along with the new eCommerce platform and the web strategies developed and implemented by TELLUS delivered significant results for the online channel . The results speak for themselves. Home Bistro’s conversion rate jumped to 9.42% in December, significantly higher than the industry average of 2-3% and web contribution to total revenue increased by 6.1%.
