The new web site for Ursuline Academy is a feature rich site with over 200 pages of content. The new site provides a central portal for Ursuline information. It provides easy access to online grades, teacher web sites, the ability to sign up and receive updates by email on school news and events, an alumnae discussion board, and a unique online admissions video providing a glimpse into a "day in the life of an Ursuline Student." A variety of online forms mean less time processing paperwork. Faculty and Staff now submit internal requests for peer-tutors, grants, and personal days through web-based forms. Site visitors can do everything from submitting a prayer request to making an online contribution to Ursuline.
Additional features include an online store with alumnae and athletic booster apparel and a "master information database" that will enable web-based updates to student information.
Ursuline wanted to take advantage of web-based technology to streamline the information flow between parents and the school. This web-based student information database utilizes the highest level of security (similar to security used for credit card information on the web.) Because information can be easily transferred from this database to school grading and donation tracking systems, it saves months of staff time that has been spent manually typing information into these systems.
Additional savings is created by a site administration system that allows Ursuline staff to manage site updates. They can log-in through the web from anywhere to make important updates in a timely manner (and the system does not require technical training - so administrators can make updates without tying up valuable IT resources.)
